In the table below we compare all benchmarks of the Intel Core i5 2500K to the Coffee Lake i5 and the Ryzen 5.

The integrated graphics chip of the i5 8600K is two to four times faster than that of the i5 2500K.

In single-threaded tests, the performance gain of an upgrade to Coffee Lake is around 50%, while a Ryzen CPU gives you 30 to 40 percent extra performance. In multi-threaded tests we often see at least as much gain, with Ryzen also showing a lot better results, and in the Staxrip tests even more.

The frame rates in GTA V and Battlefield 1 are 75% higher on i5 8600K on medium settings than on Sandy Bridge i5. On less CPU-intensive settings, we still see a performance gain of between 20% and 40%.
