When shopping ASUS, with MX in the model name you are set to get something special. This MX239H is quite old by now, it came to the market in 2012. It is still available today for about 180 pounds / 200 euros. The round metal foot remains a distinctive feature along with the silver-coloured lower bezel on this otherwise very thin-bezel IPS panel.
ASUS also does not put much effort into cable management in this model. The two hdmi, vga, double audio jacks and the power cable which are not covered spoil the back of its otherwise very sleek back panel.
Let’s check out the test results then where the MX239H performs well in many aspects. The brightness, contrast, uniformity and even the response times are all acceptable. Where the model really shows its age is the colour coverage of slightly over 93% of the sRGB is the least in this test and the colour fidelity in both colour and grey. Additionally, the power consumption has not aged well either. With that in mind, for the current price this screen is going for, it is not one we would recommend. Time for a new model, ASUS!
