The market for power supplies is not as dynamic as that of other computer components; there are still models for sale that were introduced a few years ago. In this test we take a look at 39 ATX power supplies that can supply 700 or up to 850 watts. These are new models, as well as power supplies that have been available for some time now.

All power supplies in the test have at least an 80 Plus Bronze certificate, but we have also tested Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium certified models. Furthermore, the test participants distinguish themselves in terms of the amount of connectors, size and whether or not they can (in part) operate passively.

The prices of the tested power supplies vary wildly. The least expensive model in this test has an average price that is slightly below 58 pounds / 65 euros, while the most expensive model costs more than 232 pounds / 260 euros.
