Forza Motorsport 7 review: benchmarks with 23 graphic cards

What hardware do you need to run the newest Forza game?

Forza Motorsport 7 is ready to compete with Project Cars 2 on tracks. Both the games have their own audience where Forza Motorsport is a bit less about the race simulation and a bit more on the arcade elements. So, what hardware do you need to get the best Forza experience?

Forza Motorsport 7 is the tenth game in the Forza family, and will be available on Xbox One and One X as well as the PC. The game is developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. Compared to the previous version – Forza Motorsport 6 – there aren’t just more cars and tracks, but also loot boxes are now in game.

The Forza Tech engine, that we know from Forza Horizon 3, is also used in this Turn 10 Studio’s game. According to the developers, they created the engine without having any specifications for the upcoming Xbox One X Project Scorpio hardware. Despite this, the developers say that the game runs really well on the final set of the Xbox One X hardware. This means they also had more time to spend designing the game content.

The new Forza Motorsport was well-received by the gaming press community. Our colleagues are happy about the graphics and details and controls. Some are questioning the necessity of the loot box addition, some do not see it as an issue and praise the carrier mode length.

Hardware requirements

What game is complete without some odd system requirements these days? Forza 7 checks the special requirements box by focussing heavily on the DirectX 12-API. Windows 10 suits this requirement fine. Minimum CPU requirement is i5 750 but an i5 4460 is recommended. Graphics cards can be 2GB variety of the GTX 650 of R7 250X or higher with recommendation of at least GTX 1050 Ti or RX 560. A minimum of 8GB of RAM is also a requirement.

You will not be able to find Forza Motorsport 7 on the price comparison site as it is Windows Store exclusive. There you can find the free demo version and purchase the full game for 49,99 pounds / 69,99 euros. You do not find free demos of game so often these days any more, but they are always appreciated for trying out the game first. Another good thing to know is that Forza Motorsport 7 is a “Play Anywhere” game which means that you get both versions to play it on the PC and Xbox interchangeably.
