Power consumption without load
A more efficient power supply contributes to a lower utility bill. Maybe even more important is that the power supply does not use a lot of power when the computer is turned off – meaning there is no load at all. This is why we always include this test. We perform this test both with the power supply turned on as well as with it turned off. When a power supply does not have an on/off-switch we obviously are unable to perform both tests and the results will be identical.
The Seasonic Prime power supplies have an excellent score here as well. With the power supply turned off there is no power draw at all, and when turned on without load none of the models ends up above 0.2 watts.
