We test all Intel Z370-motherboards with an Intel Core i7 8700K-processor, 16 GB G.Skill Trident Z-memory clocked at 2666 MHz at CL14, two Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSDs and a Seasonic Prime Titanium 650W power supply. Because the MSI Z370 Godlike Gaming is the only board that does not offer its own video-output, we tested this motherboard in combination with a GTX 1050 Ti.
All tests are performed using the default settings of the motherboards. Of course the performance and power consumption depend on the standard tuning. Some manufacturers use tricks in order to further increase the performance. For example, some motherboards scale up to the maximum single-core turbo on all cores. This means that the system is a lot faster, but also less power efficient.
Aside from the performance of the CPU, GPU and the memory, we also test the USB 3.1-speed, the power consumption and the sound quality of the motherboards.
