Test results: PCMark7
PCMark 7 uses traces based on software from the Windows 7 era. The benchmark plays the traces in real time. While this results in scores that are relatively close to one another, they are much more indicative of what you can expect in terms of real world performance. Scoring two times as much points in PCMark 7 means that a task will be completed twice as fast in reality.
While modern SSDs show next to no difference in the PCMark score, there definitely are differences between hard drives. Here we find that the IronWolf Pro prefers large amounts of data over this sort of application, as we saw on the previous page.
