Test results: Atto Random Write
We use Atto to measure how well the drives can process random read- and write commands. We do so using both small block sizes (4 kB) and large block sizes (1 MB). The 4 kB speeds are mainly intended to provide insight in how well the drive performs when used as a disk for your OS and other programs. The 1 MB tests, on the other hand, offer insight in how well the drive performs when storing files of limited size. The results of the write tests can be found below.
Here, the IronWolf Pro shows that it performs very well when writing. With the 4kB-blocks it is the second fastest and with the 1 MB-blocks it is the fastest. More than 240 MB/s for a hard drive is an amazing score.
