Iometer: 4kB random read/write
We used Iometer to measure the random read speed using 4k data blocks at queue depths of 1 through 32. The Samsung SSDs win with some margin in the tests with low queue dephts, which indicates that the underlying NAND-chips of Samsung are the fastest. At a higher queue depth the intelligence of the controller also plays a part and once again it is a Samsung party. The Intel 600p clearly trails behind in the QD32-test.
When writing with QD1 the Intel SSD 750 convincingly takes the lead, but with QD32 the Samsung SSDs are able to produce the most IOps once more.
