Corsair Neutron NX500 800GB review: new NVMe from the USA

Corsair is trying to compete with the Samsung 960 Pro

By

Iometer: 4kB random read/write

We used Iometer to measure the random read speed using 4k data blocks at queue depths of 1 through 32. The NX500 has an average score at a queue depth of 1 and is a lot slower than the 960 Pro. This discrepancy is less at a queue depth of 32, where the NX500 manages to get a lot closer to the 960 Pro; thereby being faster than a lot of other SSDs.

The write speed of the NX500 is not amazing. In the QD1-test it turns out to be one of the slowest, but in the QD32-test it manages to secure a spot in the middle of the pack.
