MSI RX 570 Gaming X & RX 580 Gaming X(+)
As ASUS, MSI is also represented by three different models. The Radeon RX 570 Gaming X and RX 580 Gaming X are the spitting image of the high-end cards of the brand, but the underlying cooler is slightly more simplistic. The RX 580 Gaming X has three heatpipes, while the RX 570-version has two. Despite the identical appearance with two fans, it has less cooling capacity.
The Gaming X+ is a new design and houses a Polaris 20 XTR-chip. Furthermore this card has a bigger cooler with five instead of three heatpipes. As with the RX 580 Gaming X, this model has a backplate while the RX 570 does not. MSI does not go along with the rgb-hype as much as ASUS: only an MSI-logo at the top is adjustable in terms of colour, the leds at the front are always red.
Noteworthy is that MSI follows the competition by implementing ‘VR-friendly’ monitor-outputs. By sacrificing a single DisplayPort for an HDMI-connector, you can keep an HDMI-monitor or-television connected when you use VR.
