Mice infestation: 37 gaming mice review

37 gaming mice of 15 brands tested

G.Skill: MX 780

This newcomer on the mice market sent us an extraordinary model, namely the MX 780. The design is a lot like the Mad Catz-mice that we will cover further on. Unique is the flexibility: you can change the left- and right sides to make it suited for left handed use, but also the palm rest can be changed to your liking. As is usual with a gaming product, G.Skill invested in rgb-lighting and divided this in four zones. You can synchronize the lighting with the MSI Mystic Light-software. The same light effects on your motherboard and mouse: who does not want this?

The rather big mouse weighs 111 gram, but with two weights you can add almost ten gram to that. The test results are good; the low lift-off distance of 1.1 mm is definitely worth mentioning. The measured speeds do indicate that the sensor is having trouble with the rough texture of one of our cloth mouse pads. On a smooth cloth or hard plastic pad we experience no issues. The average price of 56 pounds / 62 euros is not that bad, but G.Skill-products are unfortunately not available everywhere.
