PNY GeForce GTX 1080 Ti XLR8 OC Gaming review: small, long and sober

GP102 with more form than function

PNY GeForce GTX 1080 Ti XLR8 OC Gaming 11GB

The PNY GTX 1080 Ti has a triple 90mm-fan cooler with five heatpipes and takes up two slots. PNY uses the Nvidia reference-design for the PCB. With 30.5cm this card is one of the longest 1080 Ti versions. At the same time the card only has a width of 10 cm which makes it one of the thinnest cards available – it barely takes up more space than the I/O-bracket itself. The cooler consists of both plastic and aluminium and has a colour theme of red, black and grey. Aside from that the card has a matte black backplate that covers the entire card. For power, the card has a 6- and 8-pins PCIe-connector.

The GPU has a base clock of 1531 MHz and a boost clock of 1645 MHz, compared with respectively 1481 MHz and 1582 MHz for the Founders Edition. The memory of the XLR8 runs at 1376 MHz: a single megahertz higher than the memory of the Founders Edition. In terms of I/O at the back of the card we find three times DisplayPort 1.4 as well as a single HDMI 2.0b-connector.
