Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT 2TB review: monster stick

A USB stick with the capacity of a hard drive

Test results real-world

Synthetic benchmarks are fun, however what's important in the end is how fast transfers actually go. We kept track of time and convert that to the amount of megabytes per second. A large file of 10 GB is transferred really quickly, especially in the test where we transferred from the stick to the PC. Writing is a bit slower, however 174 MB/s remains a very respectable speed.

When copying files with a size of 5 MB, comparable to transferring photos and music files, the read speed remains one of the best. The write speed however, completely collapses to 30 MB/s. We once again have to note that the four-year old Predator wrote much quicker than the new model.
