Glass panels are quickly becoming cheaper

NZXT Source S340 Elite

For quite some time NZXT has been manufacturing cases with remarkable design, but they have become more and more popular with the mainstream audience since the last couple of years. With cases such as the H440 and the S340, which pioneered the radical choice to leave out any room for external 5.25” and 3.5” devices in favor of more internal space for water cooling, the company saw great success. The brand is milking these models quite a bit; both recently appeared in new versions and ‘special editions’. We received a new version of the S340, the Elite. This distinguishes itself with a glass panel and extra front connectors: more usb connectors and furthermore an hdmi pass-through for connecting vr headsets. This is clever design.

Aside from this the S340 Elite is mainly an S340 and there is nothing wrong with that. The internal space is cleverly utilized, there is enough room for components and cables can be neatly tucked away while the power supply and hard drives are removed from view because of the cover at the bottom. Thanks to the two powerful fans that come with the case the cooling performance is excellent, although it is slightly behind the true top in terms of cooling. The noise levels are not exceptional, but acceptable nonetheless.
