Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH Edition review: our new favourite

New CPU cooler tested using new test method

Test results: Socket 115x

We needed a voltage of 10.5 volts on both fans to achieve a noise level of 30 dB(A). You'll only find 30 decibel graphs below, since the cooler did not produce more than 34 dB(A) of noise, even at full power.

The results with the socket 115x-system are truly outstanding. The Mugen 5 PCGH performs its predecessor, the normal Mugen 5 and the popular Scythe Fuma without any effort. Only the Noctua NH-D15, that costs about 80 pounds, cools a bit better. As a result the new Scythe cooler ends in second place in both graphs - with both 65 and 95 watts of heat production -.
