Eight gaming chairs roundup review

Gaming like a king

AKRacing Nitro

AKRacing sent us the Nitro, a chair that is available in black with blue, green, orange, red or white. We tested the black/blue version. Depending on the colour the chair costs about 250 pounds / 290 euros to 259 pounds / 300 euros and is made of faux leather. The seat and the backrest both have a distinct shape. In terms of size of the seat and backrest the chair does not really stand out, but bear in mind that the flat part of the backrest is only 33 centimetres wide at shoulder height. Because of the shape, which bends inward sharply, the chair feels pretty cramped if you have wide shoulders. The armrests are height adjustable but cannot be pivoted in- or outward.

We have our reservations about the quality of the Nitro. The faux leather feels relatively thin and the fit over the underlying foam is not that great. A bigger problem is that the chair has quite a bit of clearance on its base and that the chair easily topples when you pressure the edge of the seat – for example when you literally sit on the edge of your chair.
