We also received the Vertagear SL-5000, the top model from the ‘racing line’ with a price tag of 309 pounds / 359 euros. This chair has relatively thick foam cushions, covered in black faux leather of good quality. The thick foam of the seat and backrest mean that the chair is comfortable, but also slightly ‘cramped’. The right part of the backrest is only thirty centimetres wide at shoulder height and while the edges are not directly forward-facing, it does mean that your shoulders are pressed slightly forward. The armrests are adjustable in four dimensions and can be set to your own liking.
Downside is that the SL-5000 has a lot of clearance; the entire seat moves when shifting your weight. That is a shame, because aside from that it is an excellent chair, which would be our second choice after the Noble Chairs.
