Final thoughts
If you have managed to get through the preceding 6500 previous words; well done! Six Ultra HD screens, all very similar but also quite different. The first thing we have to say is that none of the screens tested are a bad buy, as in this price range you will not be disappointed. This does not mean that some models aren't better than others and in this range you want the best that you can get.
Talking about the best, there's no way around the LG 31MU97. There are some small negatives, but overall this is a screen with a unique resolution, excellent value for money and excellent performance and options. An Ultimate product award is well deserved.
Because of its low price LG takes some of the thunder of the Eizo Eizo EV3237, ASUS PA328Q and Samsung U32D970Q. These are all very good monitors, but the ASUS and Eizo do not offer AdobeRGB and costs the same or a lot more than the LG. The Samsung is similar in specification but again is a lot more expensive. The ASUS PA328Q is the best choice if you look to play the occasional game on your monitor.
The two cheapest screens in this test are the Acer B326HK and the BenQ BL3201PT. The Acer is the cheapest of the two but this does show in the build quality and the test results. We would prefer the BenQ, it justifies its slightly higher price by better features and better test results. Hence, it receives a Great Value award.
