Acer Aspire P3 (Hardware)
The 11.6-inch IPS display on the Aspire P3 is an inch larger than screen of the Surface Pro and has a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. In that regard it's not really an equal to Microsoft's tablet, and the energy-efficient processor is a bit slower. And while a starting price of 599 euros is great, we'd recommend getting the more expensive model.
For another 100 euros, so 699 euros, you get twice the storage and RAM. The entry-level model comes with a 60 GB SSD and 2 GB RAM. You only have access to 26.5 GB of that, which is really low, plus you can't add any extra by means of a memory card. Having 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is worth the extra money, in our opinion. Due to the limited amount of storage, Acer includes recovery disks. The SSD is an Intel SSD 525 series, and the tablet features dual-band WiFi courtesy of an Atheros chip.
Graphics are provided by the integrated HD Graphics 4000 from the Core i3 processor. It's not extremely fast, but sufficient for most standard applications. Don't expect to run any demanding games on it, however. The battery life isn't great, like on most tablets. When you take it easy it will last you about 6 hours on a single charge, but under load it drains pretty fast.
