Consumption without load

An efficient power supply helps reduce your power bill. What's even more important is that a PSU doesn't use much power when the PC is turned off, and that is why we always perform a test without load. We do this with the PSU turned on and turned off, except when there is no on/off switch.

Most of the power supplies use less than 0.5 watts without load, which is negligible. Three PSUs use around 1 watt, the Spire BlackDragon 400W and the two Huntkey CP’s. We've seen worse before actually. However, the EU requires a standby usage of no more than 0.5 watts...
