The Windows Media Center test is based on a Media Center PC with two DVB-T tuners. First a recording is made from TV, and while this recorded TV footage is being played back, two other channels are recorded. Here follow the scores for the Crucial M500 480GB SSD.

The adding music test is based on Windows Media Player. During this test 68GB of lossless WMA music files from another drive are indexed. Do note that the reading of the WMA files doesn't fall within the trace, since they originated from another drive. The trace only contains the activity of updating the Windows Media Player database.

The starting applications test is based on opening a highly complex HTML document including all related files in Internet Explorer.

The gaming test is based on a trace in which a World of Warcraft level is loaded completely.
