In our most recent Z77 motherboard round-up we concluded that, if you're looking for an affordable ATX board, your best options are the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H, MSI Z77A-G43 and MSI Z77A-G45. The ASUS P8Z77-V LX now joins that club, and here you can see their specifications side-by-side. The Gigabyte and MSIs G45 are in the same price range as the ASUS board, and the MSI G45 is the cheapest at £78.
Out of the three boards that are within £5 of each other, the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H made the best impression. It performs the best, and uses the least amount of power. It features VirtuMVP, Dual BIOS and two additional USB 3.0 ports. But if you want to save money as much as possible, the MSI Z77A-G43 is also a great option.
The ASUS P8Z77-V LX board does not excel enough in terms of specifications or test results that it can give the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H a run for its money.
