Plantronics BackBeat Go review: musical cord

Bluetooth in-ear headphones get even smaller

Stereo Bluetooth headphones are generally not the smallest, usually they are either on-ear or over-ear. The simple reason for that is that there needs to be space for the Bluetooth module and battery. Plantronics has managed to create in-ear Bluetooth headphones, including a built-in microphone. The BackBeat Go is little more than a cord with little speakers on the ends, but is it a musical cord?

Put rather cynically, Bluetooth remains an interesting and innovative technology without any interesting applications. We have already arrived at version 4, but the real-life applications have stayed limited to hands-free calling in your car and an increasing number of wireless audio solutions.

It's a shame that the 'personal area network' never really got off the ground. We do like the idea of all your gadgets being able to communicate and wirelessly exchange information.

The Plantronics BackBeat Go looks quite nice.

That's why we became interested when Plantronics introduced the BackBeat Go. Of course a Bluetooth headset isn't extremely exciting, but the size of it makes it stand out.
