It's no surprise that a successor to the Nexus 7 is currently under development. Until now, no details were available on the tablet, except for its codename, K009. Screenshots have now leaked in which a support representative of ASUS' Live Chat Support provides an 'unconfirmed' internal specification list.
The list mentions a 7-inch screen with a remarkable 1980x1200 pixel resolution, a possible typo. The K009 allegedly features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 or APQ8064 processor, the former of which we've seen in numerous high-end smartphones. Also listed is 2 GB of memory and a 32 GB storage capacity. The tablet will have both a 5-megapixel camera and a 1.2-megapixel webcam. Connectivity includes 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and LTE. The K009 will run the latest version of Android, 4.3 Jelly Bean, and has a 4000 mAh battery.
The entire story has to be taken with a grain of salt though, since it's difficult to determine whether the chat is real or put together by ASUS for publicity reasons.
