HP has introduced new compact external hard drives. The devices are called P2050 and P2100 for respectively the 500 GB and 1 TB model. Although the drives bear the HP logo, they're built by the American PNY, a well-known manufacturer amongst hardware enthusiasts.
The enclosure holds a 2.5-inch 5400 RPM drive. A USB 3.0-interface is used to handle both data and power. Four different colours are available; silver, black, blue and red. Both the P2050 and P2100 are backed by two years of factory warranty.
HP hasn't revealed any details on pricing and availability.
