It seems AMD plans to release a Radeon HD 7790 graphics card, as the manufacturer has revealed some details of the model at the CeBIT conference. The card is based on the 28 nm Bonaire GPU and features 896 shader units. It supports DirectX 11.1 and OpenGL 4.3.

Clock frequencies are still unknown, but AMD has stated that the chip would perform roughly 10% less than an HD 7850 card. The AMD Radeon HD 7790 has a recommended price of {c:gb}(£118){c:gb} and should be available next month.

In addition to the few details on the HD 7790, AMD mentioned that a prototype of the dual-GPU Radeon HD 7990 'Malta' card is now ready.
