Intel postpones Haswell launch until Computex

By , source: VR-Zone China

Recently, model numbers of Intel's upcoming Haswell series of processors surfaced, suggesting a release date of April 20th, 2013. The Chinese department of VR-Zone now states that the introduction of this series (both the mobile and desktop chips) are postponed from the second quarter to the third quarter. Intel reportedly now plans to launch Haswell in the launch window of May 27th through June 7th, just before or during the Computex conference. The products can be advertised and sold starting June 2nd.

It's still unclear why exactly Intel has delayed the launch of its new platform. It's rumoured that the Ivy Bridge supply is still too rich, as a result of poor Windows 8 sales and matching systems. The processor manufacturer aims to get rid of the stock prior to Haswell's introduction.
