Microsoft's Surface RT tablet is already available in several countries, with the Surface Pro following in January. Remarkably enough, the specifications to their successors have already surfaced. Unwired Review has bundled the rumours. The Surface RT 2 will have a smaller screen; 8.6-inch instead of the current 10.6-inch. The Nvidia Tegra 3 processor will make room for a Qualcomm-made chip.
While the Surface RT 2 is smaller than its predecessor, the Surface Pro 2 increases in size from 10.6-inch to 11.6-inch. The Core i5 processor has been substituted with an AMD Temash processor.
A third model will also make its debut: the Surface Book. This 14.6-inch device is to feature a 22 nm Intel Haswell processor.
It will take a while before these products will actually be available. Realistically, we'll have to wait until the third quarter of 2013 at least.
