Intel has expanded its Atom series of processors with a new top model. The D2560 takes the baton from the D2550, the current top model, after the discontinuation of the D2700.
The new D2560 is based on the 32 nm Saltwel architecture and the Cedarview cores are clocked at 2 GHz. While quite a bit faster than the 1.86 GHz D2550, it's still 133 MHz slower than the D2700 which was discontinued earlier this year. Like the D2550, the new D2560 features HyperThreading technology. The D2550 has a 10 W TDP and a price of $47 (£29) for the tray model.
