Kensington may be mostly known for its laptop locks (Kensington lock), but the manufacturer sells a wide variety of peripherals as well. Two new DisplayLink USB 3.0 Docks are added to the product line-up today; the Office Dock (sd3500v) and the Home Dock (sd3000v).

The USB 3.0 Office Dock features two monitor outputs, namely HDMI and DVI (VGA through a converter). Apart from the display signal, the device is also capable of sending 5.1-channel audio over HDMI. The dock features Gigabit ethernet, 3.5 mm audio jacks and extra USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. Its based on a DisplayLink DL-3900 IC and uses a separate bundled power adaptor.

The other product, the USB 3.0 Home Dock, has only a single monitor output, in the form of DVI. Apart from that, the devices are fairly similar, as the Home Dock also features Gigabit Ethernet, 3.5 mm audio jacks and extra USB 2.0 and 3.0 functionality. This model is based on the DisplayLink DL-3700 IC and also requires the bundled power adaptor.

Kensington's USB 3.0 Office Dock has a recommended price of $199.99 (£125), while the USB 3.0 Home Dock is priced $169.99 (£106).
