Earlier this month, Mad Catz introduced the Tritton Pro+ True 5.1 Surround headset. The manufacturer now debuts the more luxurious Tritton 720+ 7.1 Surround headset. As the name implies, the headset bears a striking resemblance to the Pro+, but instead of featuring Dolby Digital 5.1, it has Dolby Digital 7.1.
The headset uses 50 mm neodymium drivers which should perform better than their 40 mm predecessors, especially when it comes to the lower frequency ranges, Mad Catz states. The headset has an audio range of 25 Hz to 22 kHz. The lightweight and flexible design should ensure optimal user comfort.
The microphone is detachable and a separate Dolby Digital decoder box is bundled to which the headset can be plugged in. This box, which doubles as equalizer, can then be connected to a PC, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 through USB for power and an optical connection for audio. A volume adjuster for both the input and output audio has been incorporated into the headset's cable. It also allows the microphone to be muted altogether.
Price-wise, the manufacturer has not yet revealed any details.
