Sapphire has launched a new version of the Radeon HD 7770 graphics cards, named 'Vapor-X OC Edition'. As the name suggests, the card comes overclocked out of the box. AMD's reference cooler has been replaced by an alternative 'vapor chamber' cooler with two fans. Like every Radeon HD 7770, the card has 640 stream processors, a 128-bit interface and 1 GB of memory. The core clock is increased by roughly 10 percent to 1.1 GHz. The memory is clocked at 5300 MHz, instead of 4500 MHz.
Sapphire has added four monitor outputs to the card, namely 2x DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. The HDMI output is compatible with 'Fast HDMI', as are all cards from the Radeon HD 7000 series. Other features include DirectX 11.1 support, DirectCompute 11, PCI-Express 3.0 and CrossFire technology. It's likely that the new cooler makes the card significantly quieter than a reference model. The dual fans also provide some additional headroom for overclocks.
A price has yet to be revealed for Sapphire's Radeon HD 7770 Vapor-X OC Edition graphics card.
