ASUS has introduced a new version of the Radeon HD5750 graphics card, equipped with a so-called 'Formula' cooler. The brand earlier released Radeon HD4890 and HD4770 cards with a similar cooler, to be associated with a Formula 1 car. Apart from the alternative cooler, which still takes up two slots, ASUS has also altered the connectivity options. In comparison to the original HD5750, one of the two DVI ports has been left out; the DisplayPort connector has been replaced by and old-fashioned VGA connector.
According to ASUS, this alternative Formula cooler keeps the card up to 13% cooler than AMD's reference model. The graphics card features identical clock frequencies to a regular HD5750 with 720 active stream processors; the core is clocked at 700 MHz and the 1GB of GDDR5 memory at 1150 Mhz.The card can be used in CrossFire setups and sports an additional six-pin PCI-e connector. ASUS' latest addition costs about 115 euro.
Rather than DisplayPort and 2x DVI, ASUS' Formula sports a single DVI port, as well as a VGA connector
