Corsair Graphite 230T review: great and affordable design

Graphite 230T is inexpensive, looks good and cools well, but cuts too many corners

By

Introduction

Corsair certainly hasn't been rolling its thumbs since entering the computer chassis market with the Obsidian 800D. There are several product lines, of which we most frequently see the Obsidian and Carbide series. Then there's also the Vengeance series and the Graphite line, to which today's chassis belongs to. The 230T we received has a deep orange colour with a modern, compact design and very decent cooling. We do wonder who Corsair is aiming at with this chassis, considering all the other quality products in their repertoire.

Corsair is one of those companies that likes to give reviewers a helping hand, and the Graphite 230T is no exception. The included documentation states that 'Graphite Series 230T is a great choice for gaming PCs, graphics design workstations, or any application where high performance and high style both matter'. Of course a workstation for graphical designers should look hip... Either way, this a chassis that definitely deserves a closer look.

Comparison

We compared the Corsair Graphite 230T, which currently has an average price of £65 / €77, to 16 other ATX chassis that are similar in price. Some cost a little more, others a little less, but it's a different selection than when we test chassis in the £70-£110 range, the 'mainstream' segment.

Below you see all the models that we are comparing, and it's clear that the 230T is a relatively compact chassis.
