MSI N760 Hawk review: GeForce GTX 760 for overclocking

Comparison with four other GeForce GTX 760s.

Overclocking

Of course we had to try our hand at overclocking the N760 Hawk. The GPU runs at a standard 1.2V, and in Afterburner you can increase this to 1.212V. Not a world of difference, exactly, but still. We were able to overclock the card in 3DMark Vantage to a stable 1226 MHz Boost clock for the GPU (which results in a max frequency of 1293 MHz) and 1827 MHz for the memory, good for 41571 points. We used the standard cooler, and it was pretty hot in the office.

In 3DMark11 we got the GPU and memory a bit further, to 1231 MHz Boost clock (resulting in frequencies up to 1306 MHz) and 1852 MHz, respectively. That resulted in 9903 points. We have no doubt you could exceed 10,000 with a little patience.

We got 3DMark Fire Strike to run with the same settings as 3DMark Vantage: 1226 MHz Boost clock for the GPU and 1827 MHz for the memory, resulting in 6583 points.
