Aerocool XPredator X3 review: complete mid-range chassis

Eye-catching design combined with good performance

By

Introduction

It's been a while since we last tested a chassis from Aerocool, so when we received the XPredator X3, we were eager to see what it had to offer. In typical Aerocool fashion, the design is not very conservative. If you like your desktop PC to draw attention to itself, this could be your brand. But looks aren't everything, and in this review we'll examine how well this chassis cools, how the noise levels are and how easy it is to build a system in it.

The Aerocool XPredator X3 is available in a number of different color schemes: Devil Red, Evil Black and plain White. The test sample we received was the Evil Black edition, that's black just like the Devil Red version, just with different accents. These accents consist of a piece of plastic on the top, the color of the interior, the cover plates on the back and a few parts on the front panel.

Comparing

The XPredator X3 costs an average of £80 or € 90, which puts it in the mid-range segment. There is tons of competition here, and when we compare it to 30 others in the same segment, the Aerocool XPredator X3 is slightly larger than the rest.
