At Startech.com they come up with some nice and useful products, whether it's a simple cable or a wireless external hard disk. Today we are taking a closer look at the USB32HDEH, which is a USB 3.0 to HDMI External Multi Monitor Adapter with 1-port USB hub.
That's a very long product name for a very compact little box. It's an adapter for adding a second monitor to a computer, for example a notebook or a Windows tablet. That's nothing new, but the implementation is a little different than what you usually see in those adapters.
Aside from the HDMI port for connecting a monitor, it also features two USB 3.0 ports. One for connecting it to your computer, and the other so you don't lose one of your USB ports. That's a very welcome feature, as most laptops still don't have that many of the faster variety of USB ports.
In the box with the adapter there's a cd-rom with the drivers, a card with the website where you can also find them, a short quick-start guide and an adapter that turns the HDMI port into a DVI port. Startech.com recommends you install the drivers prior to connecting the device. There are also other versions, such as the USB32VGAEH with VGA and the USB32DVIEH with DVI.
