Core i7 power in style

Introduction

We recently tested the Samsung ATIV Book 7, and today it's time for the Samsung ATIV Book 8. It's a very deluxe 15.6-inch laptop, both in terms of design and specifications.

It's equipped with an Intel Core i7-3635QM, 8 GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 8870M. The sleek notebook has a 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen.

It's a laptop that can hold its own against the competition, in other words. The lack of a DVD burner means that it is a very sleek. The reason why you don't see an Ultrabook sticker on the notebook is because the quad-core Intel Core i7 processor is far too powerful. Ultrabooks are only allowed to have dual-core CPUs.

The 15.6-inch display has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and is glossy due to the touch layer. The screen has 10 touchpoints, and has a PLS panel with excellent viewing angles. Along with the large touchpad and the quality keyboard, you have a very nice working environment. The chassis is constructed in aluminium, and like the ATIV Book 7 this model also boasts the SideSync technology which allows you to link a compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone to the laptop.
