Late March AMD introduced the Radeon HD 7790, and a week later Nvidia answered with the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost. We compared to the two cards, but it wasn't really a fair comparison since the first Radeon HD 7790 cards came with only 1 GB of video memory, while the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost has 2 GB. That influenced both price and performance.
Sapphire now sent us a Radeon HD 7790 with 2GB of video RAM, the Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 OC 2GB. With an average price of £139 or € 164 it costs almost exactly the same as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost cards with 2 GB. It's a much fairer comparison, in other words. Read on to find out which card gives you the most value for your money.
In this review we will focus on the performance of the Radeon HD 7790 and Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost and how they compare, along with the specific test results of Sapphire's card.
