12 Mini-ITX chassis review: compact quality

A fully-fledged PC in a small chassis is perfectly possible.

Conclusion

There's quite a bit of choice in the Mini-ITX chassis department. Until recently it really was a niche segment, with expensive and not always the most practical products. That has changed, now you have both affordable and high-quality chassis. Out of the 12 we tested, a number stand out.

The Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced offers everything you need and performs well. That by itself earns it a Bronze Award, but it's on a level that it really deserves the Silver Award, and we even considered Gold. That last is reserved for the very elite, however, and the Silverstone SG07 makes it clear what that entails: superior cooling and options.

The Bitfenix Prodigy is unique in many aspects and therefore doesn't have direct competition, and in this round-up we can't really do it justice. Nevertheless, we like it enough to give it the Bronze Award because of its affordable price and the large amount of interior space. The same award goes to the Chenbro SR30169, also a unique product that is perfect for your own NAS or homes server.
