12 Mini-ITX chassis review: compact quality

A fully-fledged PC in a small chassis is perfectly possible.

Lian Li PC-Q03

Lian Li sent us two Mini-ITX chassis, and Lian Li has been active in this segment for years. The Lian Li PC-Q03 is a little work of art, and has a very modest volume of 11 dm³. The price is also very modest in Lian Li terms at £60. This cuboid chassis is made out of aluminium and weighs 1.5 kg.

There's still room for a full ATX PSU (with a max depth of 16 cm). Since there is no case fan, it also serves as cooling fan. Despite the limited size you can fit two 2.5-inch or one 3.5-inch hard disk on the bottom. At the top there is space for a slimline optical drive. There are two frontal USB 3.0 ports and audio jacks.

The lack of active cooling makes PC-Q03 turn pretty warm, more than 50 degrees before we stopped measuring. The noise levels are low, for the same reason.
