Four graphics cards
The ASRock Z77 Extreme 11 board has four PCI-Express x16 slots, and that's striking for a Socket 1155 board since the processor has a PCI-Express 3.0 controller with only 16 lanes. A PLX chip switches and doubles the lanes, making it so that three slots get 8 lanes each. The fourth x16 slot has four lanes. We should mention that the Socket 1155 platform was never intended for that many graphics cards. If you do want to have that many video cards, you're better off with a Socket 2011 X79 chipset motherboard.
The integrated GPU in the Socket 1155 processors have access to only a single HDMI port. ASRock bundles the Lucid VirtuMVP software. The board has two Intel LAN chips, which confirms the impression that this board is aimed at the workstation market. ASRock also included a VIA Firewire controller and a Realtek ALC898 audio codec with THX TruStudio Pro audio drivers.
Even if the board is not primarily meant for overclockers, it's perfectly possible with the 12-phase power supply. There are plenty of available voltages and BIOS options. It's too bad that only two out of the 6 fan connectors are of the PWM variety. A nice addition is the HEX display with BIOS POST codes.
