Excellent specifications
Despite the reasonable price Lenovo included powerful hardware. The IdeaPad U410 has a dual-core Intel Core i7-3517U, with a clock frequency of 1.93 GHz and 4 MB cache. The energy efficient Ultrabook Core i5 processors are also dual-core, but are slower and only have 3 MB cache. The U410 comes with 8 GB DDR3-1333 RAM.
Graphics are taken care of by the HD Graphics 4000 and the Nvidia GeForce 610 graphics card with 1 GB video memory. The dedicated graphics card actually has pretty limited advantages, except that you get to use Nvidia's drivers. The marketing aspect probably is the main raison d'etre for the Nvidia card, it looks nice in the specs. The display itself is a standard TN screen with limited viewing angles and a 1266x768 resolution.
A nice feature on this laptop is the large 1 TB Seagate hard drive. It's not the fastest out there, but you have plenty of storage. To ensure quick startup, there is a 32 GB Samsung PM830 mSATA SSD. You also get a large battery, which lasts about 6.5 hours under light loads. If you give the U410 a work-out, it lasts two hours and 40 minutes.
