Lenovo IdeaPad U310 review: eye-catching Ultrabook

Is it as interesting as the 14-inch version?

By

Introduction

If the Lenovo IdeaPad U410, which we reviewed earlier this week, is too large and heavy for you but you like it otherwise, then Lenovo has the perfect solution for you in the form of the IdeaPad U310. It has a smaller 13-inch screen and a lower price of £699.

The U410 stood out with its impressive specifications (an Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard disk), but the U310 distinguishes itself by its look instead. This Ultrabook is available in a combination of white and blue as you can see in this review, but also in white and pink. Clearly different than the standard grey or black combinations of traditional laptops.

The chassis looks nice, and the bottom has a quality finish as well. The plastic could have been a bit thicker in places, because it does give way in places. Like the U410, the U310 is relatively heavy with a weight of 1.66 kg. A disadvantage of the sleek case is that it's not easy to open if you want to add an upgrade.
