Conclusion
The ST-700 are above-average headphones, that reproduce a very reasonable sound for what you pay. If one of your requirements is that your audio equipment doesn't affect the tone whatsoever, than these aren't for you. However, if you enjoy a relatively warm and smooth sound with solid bass, then these TDK headphones will provide a pleasant listening experience for you.
We should mention that the earpads tend to get warm pretty quickly, and that the pressure can be uncomfortable. This is true for almost all on-ear headphones, so we can't fault TDK for this. For its class, these are very good headphones. If the aforementioned bothers you, then over-ear or in ear-models will be more to your liking.
