Introduction

Brands evolve, and Samsung is no exception. In its early years the manufacturer was not known for being a AAA brand, but the Korean company has succeeded in crafting a much-improved image since then. Acer, which has traditionally been known for its very affordable products, is now trying to follow that example. A perfect example of this is the new Acer Aspire S5, a very unique Ultrabook.

Acer is busy overhauling its product lines. In the lower segment it's making room for sister brand Packard Bell, and Acer also paying more attention to its high-end laptops. Until quite recently the Aspire S3 Ultrabook was one of its top models in Acer terms, now it's become a medium-range one. Above that you now have this deluxe Aspire S5, a 13-inch Ultrabook like the S3.
