Point of View Protab2 9.7-inch review: affordable tablet with IPS panel

4:3 IPS for around £190

Conclusion

A tablet with an IPS panel for a £190 is perfect for consumers who aren't willing or able to spend twice that amount on a tablet. The Point of View Protab2 9.7" is worth every penny. You really get your money's worth. What you need te keep in mind is that this is not the fastest tablet, especially when it comes to the CPU. The single core is fine as long as you don't try to run demanding applications. The GPU, however, is as good as GPUs on more expensive high-end tablets (except for the GPUs on the Tegra 3 and Apple's A5X-SoC.

Another alternative in this price class is the GoTab Exxa and the GoTab Zetta, both by Yarvik. We haven't tested those yet, so we can't make a comparison (yet). If you want to spend a little more, then you could go for the Archos 101 G9. While its display and GPU are a bit inferior to the Protab2, it does have a more modern SoC.

All-in-all the Point of View Protab2 9.7" offers a great price/ performance ratio, and we happily award it our Hardware.Info Bronze Award.
