The right touch

Steelseries 6GV2

The Steelseries 6GV2 is one of the more affordable keyboards in this round-up. Unlike its big brother, the 7G, this model does not come with audio or USB ports or wrist support. If you can live without those things, then this cheaper version is a good choice. Both models have the same black Cherry MX-switches.

The lay-out of the 6GV2 is standard, except that the left Windows key has been replaced by a function key that you can use, together with F1 through F6, to control media playback. Whether you would miss this Windows key is obviously a personal matter, but you might actually like this particular key while playing games. The housing is sturdy with a top layer in brushed, stainless steel. The 6GV2 does not have feet, so it is not possible to adjust its orientation that way.

The Steelseries 6GV2 may not be everybody's cup of tea, with the rather modest specifications and the black Cherry MX switches, but that could just as well be a reason for you to buy it, especially since it isn't very expensive.
