Seagate halts production of 7200 rpm mobile HDDs

Seagate, one of the leading hard drive manufacturers, has plans to cease the production of mobile hard drives of the 7200 revolutions per minute-type. The reason behind this decision is that the demand for these drives is being overshadowed by that of hybrid hard disks, which consist of a caching SSD and a regular hard drive. Crucial makes v4 SSDs faster with new firmware

Crucial has published new firmware for its 2.5-inch v4 SSDs. Revision 25 is the successor to revision 22 and brings several improvements to raise the performance of these budget solid-state drives.
